Meet Julie

About Me

I'm Julie van Hooren, a professional transcriptionist specializing in legal and investigative transcription.

Over the past six years, I've worked on thousands of hours of audio for international clients, applying meticulous attention to language, context and detail to produce accurate, reliable transcripts.

As a native Dutch speaker working professionally in English and Spanish, I've lived and worked in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ecuador, Spain and Portugal. This international background enables me to work confidently on multilingual projects and communicate effectively with clients across jurisdictions.

Before focusing exclusively on transcription, I founded and managed an animal welfare organization in Ecuador, collaborating with police, government authorities and legal professionals on sensitive cases. That experience reinforced the importance of accuracy, discretion and clear documentation—principles that continue to guide my work today.

I hold a Bachelor's and Master's degree from UK universities and believe that precision, confidentiality and personal accountability are the foundation of every successful legal transcription project. As an additional assurance for clients working with sensitive material, I hold a VOG (Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag — Certificate of Good Conduct), issued by the Dutch government confirming I have no criminal record. This certification is often required for professionals handling confidential legal, judicial or investigative information, and I'm happy to provide a copy upon request.

Every transcript and translation is completed and personally reviewed by me. When you entrust me with confidential material, you'll always know exactly who is handling your files.
